- About Me:
- Where to start? I've currently gone back to work after having to have a year or so off due to being ill - I eventually broke down because of what I'd experienced as a child - so I'm trying to re-build my life and it's hard at times. I also have 2 horses who are my life! And my Mum & lil brother of course who I love dearly. I write and draw/paint for a hobby. Writing would be my ideal career. I already have 80,000 words I've written about my life, issues that concern me and the lack of help and support there is where I live (& nationally). I am also helping a friend start a charity in the name of her niece - who died aged just 24 of liver problems caused by drinking. The aim of the charity is to promote awareness and educate young people (and those who care for them) and older people alike to the dangers of drinking - especially 'binge drinking'. It's still in the early stages, she passed away (I don't feel comfortable mentioning her name until I have her family's permission) recently and was brave enough to allow herself to be filmed as part of a documentary on the dangers of drinking - all whilst she knew she was going to die. Her family have let the local papers and national magazines tell her story and are now at the stage where they can begin the campaign.
I was also a victim of childhood sexual abuse and have recently fought (and won) a court case against my abusers. The effects it has on me are still prevelant and I struggle but am receiving counselling from (at last!) an amazing counsellor. I also suffer with eating disorders and self-harm but am trying hard to recover - it's NOT easy. I am also a Christian and am very passionate about religions - of all kinds, but am a firm beliver in Jesus Christ and love going to church :)
So...that's me, in a nutshell!!!
